1. Built-to-order model

Technical Audio Devices Laboratories, Inc. (TADL) today announced the TAD-D1000TX SACD/CD player and the TAD-DA1000TX digital/analog converter as the newest additions to its Evolution Series of hi-fi audio components. The TAD-D1000TX and the TAD-DA1000TX replace the highly acclaimed TAD-D1000MK2 and TAD-DA1000, respectively.

To achieve even greater audio performance over their predecessors, the TAD-D1000TX and the TAD-DA1000TX incorporate the third-generation Asynchronous USB Communication Engine and a variety of other engineering refinements.

Main Features

1) Newly Developed Third-Generation USB Communication Engine

All these models are equipped with a USB Audio Class 2.0-compliant USB port driven by the third-generation Asynchronous USB Communication Engine, which we developed in-house. The new USB communication engine is designed to accurately control the reception of digital signals coming from PCs and other digital devices. Moreover, the USB engine can read out digital signals with a high-purity clock to achieve jitter-free, high-precision performance. In addition to ensuring greater signal purity, the USB engine employs a redesigned FPGA (field-programmable gate array) internal circuit to minimize delays and capture DSD256 signals with the sampling rate of 11.2 MHz This results in significantly lower distortion at low signal levels.

2) Ultra-High C/N2 Master Clock UPCG

All these models incorporate the Ultra-High C/N Master Clock UPCG (ultra-high-precision crystal generator), which was originally developed for our top-of-the-line TAD-D600 disc player. This proprietary crystal oscillator is based on technologies developed to achieve high C/N performance at high-speed digital communication base stations and is the result of further refinement of physical characteristics on the drawing board as well as the result of a series of real-world listening evaluations. The crystal oscillator helps achieve an unprecedented level of accuracy in reproducing signals read out from an SACD or CD as well as signals fed from external sources. Furthermore, every digital input and output circuit and USB communication engine has its own newly developed high C/N clock to enable digital signal transmission in the purest form.

2. C/N: carrier-to-noise ratio

3) High-Purity Power Supply

To increase the purity of power supply, the internal coil of the transformer is directly connected to the power supply circuit, minimizing the contact points with lead wires. In addition, terminals for directly connected coils, mounting terminals for motherboards, and clamping screws are all made of oxygen-free copper coated with nonmagnetic materials to eliminate even the slightest magnetic distortions. Furthermore, the transformer is mounted firmly on a 6-mm-thick brass base to suppress unwanted vibration.

4) Low-Center-of-Gravity Structure and Insulators to Achieve Greater Isolation from External Vibration

The combination of a vibration-resistant 8-mm-thick chassis made of solid aluminum and a low-center-of-gravity structure that positions heavier parts and components closer to the bottom keeps external vibration from affecting the unit. The newly developed insulator feet have finely tuned load points and better isolation characteristics and effectively keep audio signals from being masked by vibration-induced distortion.

5) Line Output Volume Control for Direct Connection to a Power Amplifier

The line output has its own high-quality volume control, which enables the unit to be connected directly to a power amplifier, bypassing a preamplifier to simplify the signal path. When directly connected to a power amplifier, the unit serves as a digital media center capable of handling a variety of digital media in the purest form. As an added bonus, the TAD-DA1000TX is equipped with a dedicated headphone volume control.

6) Quiet CD Transport Mechanism with High-Precision Disc Loading (only in the TAD-D1000TX)

The CD transport mechanism enables smooth and high-precision disc loading and keeps external vibration from affecting the servo system. The disc tray is made of rigid machined aluminum to suppress vibration and has a black coating to prevent the diffusion of a laser beam and achieve greater accuracy in signal readout.
